Is lamotrigine more effective than Xanax for anxiety?

Lamotrigine can be added to SSRI treatment to help further alleviate anxiety. It has to be slowly increased in dosage but has no real side effects and is not addictive like Xanax. Klonopin is another good alternative to Xanax. These are my opinions from my experience. I’m not a Dr.

Laurie is exactly right this according to a friend of mine who is a pharmacist this is also given for Bipolar disbuy, this is also given to a specific type of seizure disbuy, depending on the dose Xanax is a benzodiazepine drug without more specific information I am sorry that I am unable to give you the answer that this questions deserves.

Hey skut, Lamotrigine (Lamictal) is prescribed for Bipolar 1 disbuy to help control mood episodes including depression, mania, hypomania and mixed cycling. Xanax is for panic disbuy or anxiety type disbuy. These two conditions are different and need to be distinguished by your doctor. If you could describe your anxiety, I might be more helpful.
